This Halloween Make Sure You Wash Your Hands
Happy Halloween everyone! I hope that most people are taking the right precautions this year mingling in social events. Large groups of people are the number one attribute to spreading sickness. With all the talk this year about various types of flu viruses spreading around (and the fact that H1N1 is considered a pandemic), everyone should take extra precaution when hanging out at halloween parties. I know when I'm in an altered state of mind I'm not always thinking responsibly, like making sure I wash my hands before I pick up those yummy cookies my drunk mind just spotted. The only way we can spread viruses is through the mouth and nose so its rather easy to get something on your hands and get it into your body.
The same goes for parents and their kids out trick or treating. Going house to house in a safe neighborhood is the best when you're a kid. It's not the kids responsibility to worry about any viruses they may be in contact with going door to door asking for candy, but it is up to the parents to make sure their kids are a little more cautious.
Hand Sanitizers:
Many people are against them because they have caused viruses to become stronger from building a resistance. That may be so, but now its too late. It's not necessary to use these things all the time, washing your hands does the job just fine, but at large social events where you might not have easy access to a sink or wash room having some of this handy might be worth it. If you have a wife like me, its guaranteed to be in her purse.
